Don't Get Ready, Be Ready!

“Sometimes we have the dream but we are not ourselves ready for the dream. We have to grow to meet it.” ~ Louis L’Amour
Growing up, I wanted to rule the world.  Truth be told, I still do, but this is a dream I’ve always been aware would not come to fruition until I was much older, with much more life experience and considerable world understanding.  I’ve been mentally composing the MoMo Manifesto with each life event, each grand lesson while allowing the smallest details to provide the footnotes. Yes, this is a dream that will take a lifetime.
What about other smaller, less grandiose dreams? I tried the starving artist thing in 2008 and it was met with lackluster results. I used to see that as the worst decision I ever made, and I consider myself an extremely cautious, prudent decision maker, so the blow was devastating to my ego.  How do you reconcile that for all the emotion and passion, it just might not be the time?
It is good to love to plan, but it is best to plan with love.
It has been said that success is when preparation meets opportunity.   If this is so, we must be prepared and more prepared, and super prepared at all times in order to meet our goals.  Obviously, this isn’t realistic, but how are you preparing for your future?  What steps are you taking to lay the foundation upon which to build your dreams? Have you started to build on paper or are you still having conversations during commercial breaks of Love and Hip Hop?
