When you reach a certain age, you start looking at the time you feel you’ve wasted and what exactly you may or may not have accomplished. When I turned thirty a few months ago, I came to realize that I was not doing what was necessary to reach the specific goals I have in mind. It was not time for the pity party, but time to evaluate what needed to be done to get where I needed to be.
Sharing these thoughts with loved ones can be problematic. Those around may genuinely care and want the best for you, but they can be more resistant to change than you are. Do not allow their apprehension to deter you. It’s also important not to label them as “haters,” a term ubiquitous in our culture to dismiss those who may have our best interest at heart but may be unable to see our vision. Some don’t want the responsibility of your possible failure. Others will tell you repeatedly how much they believe in you but don’t know exactly how or what that means for them. And that’s ok. Do not let their hesitance and skepticism dissuade you from taking charge of your life, being in control of following your dreams.
Your diet effects your sleeping dreams, but what you ingest mentally effects your waking dreams! Keep the sour, salty and bitter folk away to avoid heartburn!
I was living in sunny South Florida, a beautiful place with great beaches, sexy clubs, fine dining, and delightful open roads with which to access them. I had a comfortable apartment in a nice neighborhood and a day job I enjoyed more often than not. I was working on a television show to air locally set to highlight the beauty of Miami and Ft. Lauderdale featuring the new, the now and the necessary. And I was miserable.
