In his pocket
He thought he had her in pocket
Til he pulled out lint
She was his wallet
Holding all the important
Aspects of his life
Everything that mattered
His identification
His business cards
Every contact on matchstick
Even photos
But no cash
He put his dollars
Somewhere else
While his wallet was
Worn and exhausted
From folds and manhandling
Pulled out
Shoved in...
Didn't realize there were a lotta
Thieves out here
Ready to snatch her straight out
The predators
They see his wallet
Peeking out
They know the value
So they carefully
Surreptitiously
Lift, lift, lift
Without him seeing
Until it's in their hands
She's in their hands
She is no longer in his pocket
She never got outta pocket
It was he who lost her
He should've been wearing a chain...
